bulletNOV-23: Israel: According to Religion Today:
Jews, Muslims, Christians, and Buddhists are meeting at the Sea of Galilee to discuss peace. Priests, rabbis, imams, and Buddhist monks are meeting to discuss religious conflict and urge their followers not to use religion to divide people, The Associated Press said. The Dali Lama, leader of the world's 250 million Buddhists, opened the three-day conference Nov. 21 at a  Byzantine monastery built on the site of what is said to be the place where Jesus cast demons from a possessed man. Organizers hope the event will persuade religious leaders in Northern Ireland, South Africa, Bosnia, and other hotbeds of religious strife to seek peace. [Spelling error corrected.]
bulletNOV-23: Malaysia: According to Religion Today:
Christians have performed a wonderful service for Malaysia, the country's king said. Yang Di-Pertun Agong Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah presented Assemblies of God leader Prince Guneratnam with the Federal Award for the denomination's service to the country. It is the first time the award has been given to a Pentecostal leader...The Assemblies of God in (AoG) Malaysia ministers to those on the margins of society. AoG churches run drug rehabilitation centers, homes for orphaned children, and outreaches for the handicapped, abused, elderly, and destitute. The AoG has established an AIDS information and assistance center to combat the spread of the disease. AoG has more than 40,000 members in 320 Malaysian churches
