NEWS ABOUT EVOLUTION and CREATION  SCIENCE DURING 2003

Major developments during 2003:

bullet2003-AUG-27: USA: Creation Clubs in public schools: Answers in Genesis (AiG) is promoting the creation of "creation" clubs in public and Christian schools. They are seeking teachers, students, home educators, and existing Bible clubs to sponsor a extracurricular group to promote creationism. AiG offers an introductory packet to help with organizing, staff support, a free one-year gift subscription to Creation Magazine. etc. Their web site states: "Our youth are being bombarded daily with evolutionary humanism. One of AiG's purposes is to equip Christian students with useful and provocative information that will bolster their faith and challenge their non-Christian friends with the Gospel. These clubs will be outposts to proclaim the authority of Scripture in a usually hostile environment. That is why each club will need a strong Christian leader (sponsor/mentor) to conduct meetings and maintain the direction of the club."

If:
bulletThe club is to be student-led and student organized, and
bulletIf the school has at least one other extracurricular club on campus, and
bulletIf an American public school is involved, then

the federal Equal Access law will apply, almost guaranteeing the right of students to form the club. 1
